Church and Dwight produce their range of oral care brands from Folkestone, Kent and required interim expert packaging support from iDi Pac in their NPD Packaging team to develop and launch packaging solutions for a range of product areas.
During a 9 month assignment a large number of projects were delivered as part of the primary pack and shelf ready retail range
Presentation is key in this sector with highly decorated packs vying for our attention on shelf from all competing brands. Materials were chosen on the basis of delivering the designers vision of impactful differentiation. Development testing was carried out on substrates in the packaging lines and at printing/decoration at material convertors to ensure best possible outcomes.
Launch deadlines within FMCG are notoriously fixed and tight, so the packaging expert has to be skilled in planning and getting the best from the supply base, internal colleagues and external service providers to deliver.
Challenges that were overcome in the project included stress cracking in cosmetic compacts, cap fit and migration problems.
